OUTLAWS TRIVIA

--
Doug Williams had been out of football for a year when he signed with the Oklahoma Outlaws.
--
After two years with the USFL, Williams would return to the NFL, where he joined Joe Gibbs' Washington Redskins.
--
Initially a back-up behind Jay Schroeder in Washington, Williams eventually worked his way back to the top of the team's depth chart.
--
Helping the team earn an NFC championship in 1987, Williams had the best 15 minutes any pro quarterback has ever had against the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XXII.
--
Down 10-0 at the start of the second quarter, Williams proceeded to throw an unprecedented five touchdown passes, giving the Redskins an insurmountable 35-10 halftime lead.
--
Washington would go on to win the game 42-10, and Williams would be named Super Bowl XXII's Most Valuable Player.
