After each season, the Invaders experienced significant player turnover.
Only nine players from the 40 that took the field on March 6, 1983 would be around to see the 1985 season.
Fred Besana was the Invaders starting quarterback in 1983 and 1984, then fell to #2 on the depth chart when the merger with the Michigan Panthers brought Bobby Hebert onto the team's roster.
The Invaders 9-9-0 record in 1983 was good enough to win the USFL Pacific Division, but had the team been in the USFL Central, they would have finished in last place.
An October 1982 free agent tryout camp attracted 692 prospective players.  From that group, the Invaders ultimately signed 3 players.
The Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum was built in 1966 for $30 million.
Invaders tight end Raymond Chester signed with the team on December 7, 1982, after a 12 year career in the NFL.
Chester's NFL career began with the Oakland Raiders in 1970, where he spent three seasons.  He then went to the Baltimore Colts, where he played for five years before returning to Oakland in 1978, where he spent the last four years of his career.
John Ralston's collegiate coaching record at Utah State and Stanford was a combined 86-47-4.  His pro record prior to joining the Invaders was 34-33-3, over five years with the NFL's Denver Broncos.
Ralston's three children are named Larry, Sherry and Terry.
The Invaders offered ticket discounts for groups of 50 or more.
When the Invaders were on the road in Arizona, the team stayed at the Ramada East Resort in Phoenix.
When in Michigan, the team called the Northfield Hilton in Detroit home.
The Invaders never played the Orlando Renegades at home.
