The $6 million expansion fee to be paid by the Gunslingers was to be paid in four installments over the course of three years.

The first was a payment of $2.5 million, due not later than July 11, 1983.  Gunslingers owner Clinton Manges made this payment.

The second payment, of $1,083,000 (one million, plus interest) was due to the league no later than June 1, 1984.  This payment was also made.

The third was for $1,283,000 ($1.2 million, plus interest) and was due on June 1, 1985.  Though unconfirmed, reports of the day indicate this payment was never made.

The fourth and final payment, which wasn't made, was for $1,384,000 ($1.3 million, plus interest) and was due on June 1, 1986.
