GENERALS
TRIVIA |
| -- |
| Though
consisting of fewer rounds than the 1983
edition, the 1984 USFL Draft was the largest
draft in league history, with over 400 players'
rights being allocated among the league's 18
teams. |
| -- |
| The
1984 USFL Draft consisted of 19 rounds, compared
to 24 rounds in the 1983 draft. |
| -- |
| The
following year, thanks in part to players being
available from four teams that no longer
existed, the USFL opted for a 12-round draft,
similar to what the NFL conducted at the time. |
| -- |
| The
Generals did not have a first round selection in
1984 due to their 1983 signing of Heisman Trophy
winning RB Herschel Walker. |
| -- |
| Loading
up on picks in the early portion of the draft (5
in the first three rounds), the Generals traded
away five picks, including their 4th through 7th
round selections. |
