BREAKERS TRIVIA

--
McNeese State running back Buford Jordan was chosen by the Breakers in the 1st round of the 1984 USFL Draft.
--
In both 1983 and 1984, the Breakers first draft choice was a player from McNeese State University.
--
Jordan would later be joined by Marcus Dupree, whose signing caused considerable stir in pro football circles, as like Herschel Walker before him, he had not exhausted his collegiate eligibility.
--
Just 19 years old when he signed with the Breakers, Dupree would rush for 684 yards in a partial season with the team, scoring 9 touchdowns.
--
WR Dan Ross was acquired by the Breakers during the off-season, Ross having played out his contract with the NFL's Cincinnati Bengals.
--
Ross caught 11 Ken Anderson passes in Cincinnati's 26-21 loss to San Francisco 49'ers in Super Bowl XVI, a Super Bowl record that stands today.
--
After his playing days, Ross returned to his home in New England, starting his own business.  On May 16, 2006, he collapsed at his home following a run, and died shortly thereafter.
--
Ross was only 49 years old.
