Less than half of the Bandits 1984 territorial selections would make it onto the team's opening day roster.
With the league expanding to 18 teams for 1984, each of the six expansion teams were allowed 30 territorial picks, while returning teams from 1983 were allowed only 20. 
45% of the Bandits 1984 territorial selections came from the University of Florida, Steve Spurrier's alma mater.
10% came from Duke, where Spurrier had coached prior to coming to the USFL.
