PLAYER PERSONNEL GUIDE

IMPORTANT DATES, 1983

JANUARY 1:  Claiming Price must be paid to waiving club by club awarded player via waivers.
JANUARY 4:  1983 Selection Meeting
JANUARY 21:  Waiver claiming period shall be twenty-four (24) hours for the remainder
of the season
ON OR ABOUT FEBRUARY 1:  Training camps open. Players not passing club physical exams must be reported to League Office to qualify for Reserve-NFI or Reserve-Physically unable to perform.
FEBRUARY 7:  Roster cutdown to maximum of 70 players
FEBRUARY 20:  Roster cutdown to maximum of 58 players
FEBRUARY 26:  Roster cutdown to maximum of 45 players
MARCH 3:  Clubs must declare ten (10) man developmental squads. Forty (40) man active rosters established.
MARCH 6:  1st Weekend of Season
All tryouts must be reported to the League Office by TWiX for remainder of the season.
MARCH 13:  2nd Weekend of Season

MARCH 20:  3rd Weekend of Season

MARCH 27:  4th Weekend of Season.  After 4th game, waiver claiming priority based on won/lost percentage
APRIL 3:
  5th Weekend of Season

APRIL 10:  6th Weekend of Season.  Players on Reserve-Injured can be activated, but only after clearing No-Recall waivers.  Players on Reserve-NFI and Reserve-PUTP may begin practice.
APRIL 17:  7th Weekend of Season.  Determination of status of Reserve-NFI and Reserve-PUTP must be made prior to 8th week of season.
APRIL 24:  8th Weekend of Season

MAY 1:  9th Weekend of Season.  Trading ends at 4 p.m., EDT, on May 4.

Earliest date player on Reserve-Injured can be activated without clearing waivers.
